We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Teacher of History to join The Henry Box School. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and well qualified teacher to join a strong and successful Social Science Faculty. Applications are welcome from ECTs or experienced teachers. The History Department is part of the Social Science Faculty which also includes Geography, Religious Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Health and Social Care, Child Development and Care and Personal Development.
The Henry Box School is a large secondary school located in the historic conservation area in Witney, Oxfordshire. The Henry Box School is part of the family of schools which make up The MILL Academy Trust. The school was founded in 1660 and has been providing exceptional learning and teaching ever since, our vision is to transform the lives of our students through inspirational education.
Responsibilities
Plan and teach well-structured lessons
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
Fulfil wider professional responsibilities
The successful candidate for this role will have:
Qualified teacher status
Successful and sustained experience of teaching in KS4 and KS5
Effective behaviour management
Ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of planning, assessment and record-keeping
Commitment to further training and development
Conscientious, enthusiastic and positive
The ability to relate well to students, staff and parents
Willingness and ability to be an effective tutor, if required
